Trees are the front-line Warriors in the fight against climate change.
Steyning For Trees, a small charity formed in 2019, helps to arm these warriors! We promote, and carry out, the planting of trees and hedges to: -* Fight climate change* Increase biodiversity* Help combat flooding* Support the wellbeing and beauty of Steyning & Bramber.
We work and plant with many organisations including our Parish, District and County Councils; farms and landowners; the National Park, CPRE (The Countryside Charity), the Woodland Trust, and other environment groups in Steyning. Our Committee is 10 strong, plus another 20+ planting volunteers. We are very grateful to the following organisations who have funded us: Rampion Community Benefit Fund, at Sussex Community Foundation: Wilson Memorial Trust: South Downs National Park Authority: Sussex Community Foundation: Sussex Police. We also receive many generous donations from residents in the community, their support helps us enormously with our work.
