Tree of Trees

SFT has been selected to receive a special tree from the Tree of Trees.

SFT are so pleased to announce that we have been

selected to receive a special tree from the Tree of Trees from the Tom

Heatherwick designed installation outside Buckingham

Palace for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. This now

has added poignancy with the passing of the Queen

which we have all been so moved by.

Only 3 awards are to be presented in the county

and SFT feels very honoured to have been selected.

Many thanks to Harry Goring for ringing Jo to give her

this good news. Harry serves on the Committee of the

Lord Lieutenant`s appointed group overseeing the

Queen's Green Canopy scheme. The tree will be presented by Lady Emma

Barnard of Parham House, Lord Lieutenant and Kings (Queen’s) representative in

the County.

As you all know the Queen was a very dedicated and knowledgeable tree planter

and it is hoped by the awarding committee that this will encourage more tree

planting in the county. SFT hope so too.
